DAY SIX — IF YOUR PRESENCE DOES NOT GO WITH US
Presence Before Progress
Scripture: Exodus 33:12–23
Moses understood something we desperately need to recover.
Success without God is failure.
Movement without God is pointless.
Activity without God is just activity.
Moses said:
“If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.”
What a prayer.
He did not simply want God's promises.
He wanted God.
He did not want merely to reach the destination.
He wanted the Presence.
And then Moses prayed:
“Please, show me Your glory.”
This hunger has marked men and women of God throughout history.
Cuthbert was not remembered because he built a personal empire.
His life was marked by prayer, holiness, compassion and an extraordinary awareness of God.
Northumberland does not need more Christian activity for activity's sake.
Britain does not need another programme to replace the last programme.
We need the Presence of God.
We need homes filled with His Presence.
Gatherings filled with His Presence.
Believers carrying His Presence into streets, workplaces, hospitals, schools and communities.
Presence before platform.
Presence before programme.
Presence before progress.
TODAY’S ACTION
Pray for Northumberland and your region of responsibility for twenty minutes.
Begin with this:
“Lord, if Your Presence does not go with us, we do not want to go without You.”
Invite the Holy Spirit into your home, your family, your community and the places God has called you to serve.
Then wait.
Do not rush.
His Presence is not the introduction.
His Presence is the point.
Amen Amen.
