DAY THREE — INTERPRET THROUGH THE WORD

Receiving revelation is one thing. Understanding what it means is another.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
— Psalm 119:105

Here is where prophetic maturity becomes important.

A picture can be genuine.

A dream can be genuine.

An impression can be genuine.

And we can still misunderstand it.

That is why we need Scripture.

The Word becomes our plumb line.

We don't bend Scripture around revelation.

We bring revelation underneath Scripture.

Suppose someone sees fire.

Does it mean judgement?

Purification?

The presence of God?

Passion?

Revival?

We cannot simply choose the interpretation we prefer.

We pray.

We examine Scripture.

We look at context.

We wait for confirmation.

And above all we ask:

Does this interpretation reveal the character and purposes of Jesus?

The Holy Spirit will never contradict the Word He inspired.

REMEMBER

REVELATION: What did I actually receive?

INTERPRETATION: What might God mean by it?

These are not the same thing.

And sometimes the most prophetic thing you can say is:

“I believe God showed me something, but I don't yet understand what it means.”

There is no weakness in that.

There is wisdom.

TODAY

Take yesterday's revelation.

Now prayerfully ask:

“Lord, what does this mean?”

Search Scripture.

Don't force an answer.

And don't be afraid to leave something unresolved.

Sometimes revelation comes today and understanding comes later.

DAY TWO — RECEIVE THE REVELATION

Before we can interpret what God is saying, we must first learn to recognise what He has actually revealed.

“Speak, for Your servant hears.”
— 1 Samuel 3:10

Samuel heard God's voice before he understood what was happening.

He had to learn.

So do we.

God may speak through Scripture.

An impression.

A picture.

A dream.

A burden.

A word.

A repeated thought.

Sometimes something simply becomes unusually alive within us as we pray.

But here is an important lesson:

Revelation and interpretation are not the same thing.

If I see a picture of a closed door, the revelation is simply:

I saw a closed door.

The moment I say, “God is closing this ministry,” I have moved from revelation into interpretation.

That distinction matters.

Many prophetic mistakes happen because we add our interpretation to what we received and then present the whole thing as though God said it.

So when God shows you something:

Don't embellish it.
Don't explain it too quickly.
Don't make it say more than you actually received.

First, receive.

Then wait.

THE PROPHETIC PROCESS

REVELATION → INTERPRETATION → APPLICATION

What did God reveal?

What does it mean?

What are we meant to do with it?

We will walk through that process during the coming days.

TODAY

Take twenty quiet minutes.

Open your Bible and ask:

“Holy Spirit, what are You drawing my attention to?”

If something comes, write down exactly what you received.

Not what you think it means.

Just the revelation.

Learn to separate what God showed you from what you think God meant by it.
